Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of GoodChange (“we,” “us”), a platform that lets political organizations, committees, and nonprofit organizations (“Organizations”) accept donations from supporters (“Contributors”) and manage their fundraising operations. By creating an account, making a donation, or otherwise using GoodChange, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the platform.

GoodChange provides the technology that processes donations and helps Organizations track compliance, run reports, and communicate with supporters. GoodChange is not itself a political committee, does not decide how an Organization spends the funds it raises, and is not responsible for an Organization’s compliance with organization finance law beyond the tools we provide to support it.

By making a donation through GoodChange, you represent that:

• You are at least 18 years old.
• If your contribution is to a political organization or committee, you are a U.S. citizen or lawfully admitted permanent resident, the funds are your own (not given to you by another person or entity for the purpose of making the contribution), and you are not a federal government contractor where that would make the contribution unlawful.
• The contribution does not, combined with your other contributions to the same recipient in the applicable election cycle, exceed the contribution limits that apply to that recipient.
• The payment method you use is your own, or you are authorized to use it.

Organizations are responsible for monitoring contribution limits and prohibited-source rules that apply to them; GoodChange provides tools (compliance holds, itemization reports) to help with this but does not replace an Organization’s own legal or compliance counsel.

You’re responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential and for activity that happens under your account. Tell us right away at support@goodchange.app if you suspect unauthorized use.

Donations are subject to standard payment processing fees. Some donation forms offer you the option to cover this fee yourself so the full donation amount reaches the Organization; this is always optional and shown before you confirm a donation.

Refund decisions are made by the Organization you donated to, or by GoodChange staff acting on a Organization’s behalf. See our Refund Policy for details on how to request one.

• Making a contribution in another person’s name, or reimbursing someone else for their contribution.
• Using a payment method you’re not authorized to use.
• Attempting to exceed a contribution limit by splitting a gift across multiple accounts or forms.
• Interfering with or attempting to disrupt the platform, including through automated abuse of our forms or APIs.
• Using the platform for any unlawful purpose.

GoodChange and its licensors own the platform’s software, design, and branding. Organizations retain ownership of their own content (names, logos, contributor communications) that they upload or send through the platform.

GoodChange is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, GoodChange will not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

We may suspend or terminate access to the platform for conduct that violates these Terms or that we reasonably believe is fraudulent or unlawful. You may stop using the platform, and cancel any recurring donation, at any time from your contributor dashboard.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles, except where an Organization’s own governing documents or applicable organization finance law require otherwise.

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make a material change, we’ll update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify account holders directly. Continuing to useGoodChange after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.
